Bending The Universe (2016)

Bending The Universe was my debut book of poetry which I wrote in high school and published the year I graduated, in 2016, which became a bestseller and was subsequently picked up by a publisher. While it was important to my personal artistic journey and I wouldn’t be who I am today if I hadn’t written it, it is of course hard to look at something you made as a teenager and feel that it really holds up. Growing past this book taught me the importance of accepting imperfections in your output as an artist.

Our Naked Souls (2020)

My second poetry book, Our Naked Souls, is a project I’m still really proud of. This one also became an international bestseller despite being released during covid. I really dug deep in my life experience and worked through a lot as an artist, and I’m really proud of how it turned out. While I feel that my first book doesn’t really hold up to my present-day standards, I think Our Naked Souls is a great book that taught me a tremendous amount about myself and the experience of being human. The illustrations by my friend Travis Kalani really add a lot as well.
